Summer Solstice Ceremony - 7 PM back

June 21, 2022

Begin at Dayspring Farmhouse and walk in silence to near the stone labyrinth for a ceremony of poems, songs, and prayers of gratitude inspired by the Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving address. Will be cancelled in the event of thunderstorms

On the evening of the Summer Solstice, we come together to remember and give thanks: for the gifts of the sun's light, for the beauty and abundance of summer gardens and fields, for the wissdom of Earth herself. It matters - perhaps more than we will ever know - that we do this. That we remember to give thanks and bless the Earth in this way.

We begin at 7 PM at the Dayspring Farmhouse and walk in silence and simple presence to a place near the stone labyrinth overlooking the fields for this ceremony of poems, songs, and prayers of gratitude inspired by the ancient Thanksgiving Address as given us by the Haudenosaunee (also known as the Iroquois or Six Nations). The ceremony will finish by 8:00. All are welcome, including children.

Aware of the current pandemic, we ask that you not join us if you are sick. Since this ceremony is entirely outdoors, in the event of thunderstorms the gathering is cancelled. For questions and information call Jim or Cheryl at Dayspring Earth Ministry at 301-916-4827.
